FotoStory is a web-based platform for preserving and sharing family photo archives. When you create an archive, you become its curator. You can invite family members to contribute photos, narratives, and memories.
You need an account to use FotoStory. You’re responsible for keeping your password secure and for all activity under your account. You must be at least 13 years old to create an account.
You own the photos, text, and other content you upload to FotoStory. By uploading content, you grant FotoStory a limited license to store, display, and process your content solely to operate the service. We don’t sell your content or use it for advertising.
When you contribute a photo to someone else’s archive, that contribution is non-revocable by default. The archive curator controls what appears in their archive. If you want a contribution removed, you can submit a revocation request to the curator.
Archive curators pay a monthly subscription. Free trials last 14 days. After the trial, you need an active subscription to access your archive. If you cancel, your data is preserved for 90 days. After that, we may delete it.
Payments are processed by Stripe. We don’t store your credit card details.
Each subscription tier has storage and per-file size limits. If you exceed your limit, you won’t be able to upload new photos until you upgrade or free up space.
FotoStory is for preserving family memories. Don’t use it to store or distribute illegal content, malware, or content that infringes on others’ rights. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these rules.
We collect your email, name, and the content you upload. We use this data to run the service. We don’t sell your personal information. Photos are stored on Cloudflare R2 and metadata on Supabase (PostgreSQL). AI features use the Anthropic API — your content is sent to generate narratives but is not used to train AI models.
You can request a full export of your archive data at any time. If you delete your account, we’ll remove your personal data within 30 days. Photos you contributed to other archives are subject to the curator’s control.
FotoStory is provided as-is. We do our best to keep your data safe but can’t guarantee against data loss. We recommend keeping local copies of important photos. Our liability is limited to the fees you’ve paid us in the past 12 months.
We may update these terms. If we make significant changes, we’ll notify you by email. Continued use after changes means you accept the updated terms.
